Since 1996 spinal surgeon Dr Thomas M Stoll has played a key role in establishing the spine centre of the Bethesda Hospital. He previously worked as a senior physician at the orthopaedic department, university of Basel, with the main focus on spinal surgery. He operates exclusively on the spine.

Scientifically, his special interest is in the degenerative instability of the lumbar spine and its treatment with flexible, dynamic stabilisation (non-fusion, dynamic pedicle system, interspinous stabilisation). His contributions on this topic have gained international attention (see menu item: Thomas M. Stoll: Publications and Lectures).
